Holborn Community Association is looking for a Peer Intern (aged 15-18) to provide administrative and workshop support to the HCA Media Arts Coordinator and Film Project Co-facilitator, who will be planning, coordinating and facilitating our summer holiday filmmaking project, in which young people (aged 13-18 years) make their own short film.
The Peer Intern will provide peer support and guidance to the young people participating on the project. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to increase their skills, knowledge and abilities in film and media, community arts and youth work.
The successful candidate will ideally have previously participated in one of our filmmaking and/or creative arts projects and will have a keen interest in film and digital media and demonstrable experience of the processes involved in delivering such projects. The intern will know the local area and be aware of 1A Arts, its previous projects, and its participants’ demographic.
Contract length: Up to 160 hours between April and October (see Job Description for confirmed dates).
Pay rate: £6.25 per hour (plus holiday pay, no sick pay)
Minimum age: 15 years
Maximum age: 18 years

Interview week: 26th & 27th March (interviews will be held outside of school/college hours)
Write a supporting statement (no more than 1 x A4 page)
Film a short clip of yourself – make a mini ‘interview’ film of yourself (no more than 3 mins in length) using either your camera phone, webcam or video camera and either upload it to any free video hosting platform such as: Vimeo, YouTube, Posterous Spaces, Shutterfly, Viddler, Video Sprout or Mejuba and send us a private link with password, or, email us your clip as an attachment.
