Epoch Capital supports HCA’s Community Appeal with £6K donation

Holborn Community Association has got its Community Response Appeal off to a great start with thanks to Epoch Capital’s £6K donation.

We have just launched an 8-week JustGiving fundraising campaign to raise £20,000 to support vulnerable and isolated people in the heart of Holborn.

So far HCA has supported nearly 750 people to get through the unprecedented challenges of the last eight months, launching 3 new programmes to provide emergency support to those who really needed it.

Yet as an organisation we have lost nearly £100,000 from our income in 2020 due to Centres and activities closing.

One of the programmes they run is called Doorstep Help, which sees a network of volunteers and staff visit isolated and vulnerable older people on their doorstep. Community Link Worker Naomi Nehemen whose part of our Doorstep Help team shares

“we get weekly referrals from various organisations from local people to GP’s to adult social services. Without Doorstep Help, we are going to see vulnerable people in Holborn deteriorating with nobody in their lives they can trust”

The donation from Epoch Capital is just the beginning, with the tech firm nominating HCA as one of their Charities of the Year for the next 3 years.
