Celebrating our creative carers

Artwork by Angela B

It’s Carers Week this week, and we want to take the opportunity to share the beautiful work done by our Carers Art Group.

The group usually meet on Wednesday mornings at our 1A Arts Centre, but since lockdown have been coming together to create on Zoom instead. Richard Blades, group facilitator has set themes and given inspiration and ideas which have led to the creation of a wide range of art works. The group is a space not only to create, but to take some time away from caring responsibilities to relax and focus on calming and mindful creative techniques.

“I find the 1A Arts classes a source of enormous pleasure. The atmosphere is cheerful, friendly, busy and challenging.” – Liz

This year our art group have worked with Camden Carers Creative Carers Collective and have all submitted work made during lockdown for their online exhibition. You can visit the exhibition by clicking here.

A huge thank you to all of the carers who join in each week, and to Richard, for their dedication, energy and enthusiasm throughout lockdown. We’ve loved seeing what everyone has created, and look forward to more thoughtful and beautiful artworks in the weeks to come.
