Celebrating Volunteer Week At HCA

What can volunteering at Holborn Community Association look like in practice? Between January and March, we were thrilled to welcome Claudia to the HCA arts supporting the team. As a Masters in Creative Health student at UCL, Claudia immersed herself in our community – supporting our Memory Cafe, Pottery classes, Youth Arts, and Sunday Socials, as well as helping members prepare for our community exhibition in March.

Reflecting on her experience, Claudia shared:

“HCA felt like a warm, friendly and welcoming place where staff, volunteers and participants were all part of something meaningful. The creative activities were not only about making artwork, but also about creating opportunities for people to connect, talk and support one another.”

Volunteering in community arts is a powerful reminder that creativity is a vital tool for wellbeing, confidence, and combatting isolation.

A huge thank you to Claudia for her dedication and brilliant work!
