Digital Media Project - Raza's Story Raza first came to HCA in 2016, taking part in our summer film project in association with the Museum of Comedy. He returned in 2017 to work with the group again at the Francis Crick Institute, part of a group that created the highly acclaimed Selection, a short film which is currently part of the Francis Crick Institute’s Deconstructing Patterns exhibition. With HCA’s support Raza also got involved in the Teen Tours at the Photographers’ Gallery in Soho. He not only led a gallery tour, but it became the first Teen Tour to be BSL interpreted, a request from Raza so that his mother could attend the tour. This is something the Gallery’s education team is now continuing in other parts of their programme. Following his engagement with HCA, Raza expressed an interest in wanting to pursue film making as a career. Since last summer he has written and directed his own short film, Jamal, a film about a British-Pakistani teen which looks at identity. The film is due to be screened at Festival Corner at Cannes 2018.
