PEER INTERN (SUMMER FILM PROJECT 2019) – HOLBORN COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
Holborn Community Association is looking for a Peer Intern (aged 15-18) to provide administrative and workshop support to the HCA Media Arts Coordinator and Film Project Co-facilitator, who will be planning, coordinating and facilitating our summer holiday filmmaking project, in which young people (aged 13-18 years) make their own short film.
The Peer Intern will provide peer support and guidance to the young people participating on the project. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to increase their skills, knowledge and abilities in film and media, community arts and youth work.
The successful candidate will ideally have previously participated in one of our filmmaking and/or creative arts projects and will have a keen interest in film and digital media and demonstrable experience of the processes involved in delivering such projects. The intern will know the local area and be aware of 1A Arts, its previous projects, and its participants’ demographic.
You can then apply in two ways:
Write a supporting statement (no more than 1 x A4 page)
Film a short clip of yourself – make a mini ‘interview’ film of yourself (no more than 3 mins in length) using either your camera phone, webcam or video camera and either upload it to any free video hosting platform such as: Vimeo, YouTube, Posterous Spaces, Shutterfly, Viddler, Video Sprout or Mejuba and send us a private link with password, or, email us your clip as an attachment.
We want to find out about you, we are not judging your filmmaking skills and you do not need to make your film public!
Whether you apply in writing or by video entry please tell us:
a) your name and age and what school/college you go to
b) why you would be suitable for the role
c) any work experience you may have had in the community
d) what you would hope to gain from the role
Please send your application to chloe.plumb@holborncommunity.
