Our activities programme for older people stimulates older people socially, cognitively and physically to improve their emotional and physical well-being. Most important of all though is that it’s fun!
Volunteers are key to making our activities programme a success. If you have a skill or interest that you’d like to share we’d love to hear from you – currently volunteers run singing, creative writing, computing and drama activities. You don’t have to be an expert. A warm and open approach is the most important thing and you can learn new skills alongside older people.
If you’d like to get involved or have an idea for an activity contact firstname.lastname@example.org
We are keen to hear from volunteers interested in supporting the following activities
Activities Volunteer Support for Older People:
We support a great group of older people every day at our Millman Street Community Centre. If you have time to regularly attend and help make those days fun we want to hear from you. That might mean making a cup of tea for older people, joining in our arts and exercise activities or just taking time to listen and talk to people.
Care Support Volunteer for Older People:
As a Care Support Volunteer, you will play a key role in reducing loneliness and improving the quality of life of older people living in the Holborn area. The role will be to provide support to HCA staff in the provision of daily tasks in the centre and to engage with our members individually. The role will be based mainly at our Millman Street Community Centre. They will be supervised by staff based at this centre.
Small Food Donations – Weekly Collections Volunteer: we regularly collect donations from local supermarkets. If you have a spare hour or so every week to pick up a small number of items and bring them to the centre it helps keep our lunch club going as well as providing emergency support when needed for older people locally.
To register your interest in these roles or for more information contact email@example.com
